However, in most parts of the wood, the density of trees creates tall spindly examples.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As you walk around the wood, birches tend to look like this. Older trees have rougher and darker bark towards the base.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fongw.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/IMG_2206.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" trees to recolonise any clear area, and its young shoots with the characteristic triangular leaves can be seen over much of the wood:<\/p>\n<p><a
