A wide range of flowers can be found in the Great Wood, although the dense summertime canopy means that the woodland floor is often bare or covered only by bracken. However, the wide rides, like Middle Way, support a wider range of flowers, while the area close to Cuffley Brook and the swallowholes is particularly strong in springtime flowers, assisted no doubt by the relative lack of disturbance by commercial activities in the wood.<\/p>\n
